The only option that I could think of for the cable I'm holding is connected to the number 1 spot. Since the cable management is really messed up. Helping people with their fan/RGB setup is different for every case and fan type so i'm only working with the documentation Antec is providing and right now, there is a massive oversight and without the hardware in front of me, I might not be able to fully explain it. What's unknown at this point is where the the below connector labeled "4-pin PWM" is in the above image. The connectors in your hand, can you tell me where the other end of that cable connects to (via the above image)? It should be worth mentioning that unless #5 is connected to your power supply, that hub won't get power and neither will your fans/RGB. So, here is the PDF manual for that hub/controller in the case: So this is the only cable I'm left with from the fan hub, it has two connector, which one do I connect to the mobo? This means that you connect all 5 fans your case came with to it, then it has a line (see the picture above) to a fan header on your motherboard then the fan speeds/curves will be controller either in your BIOS (easy, set and forget) or the motherboard software (again with the software, see above on my thoughts).Īs for the 3-pin/4-pin thing, if you're referring to the fan control connectors (and not RGB) then yes, 3-Pin fans can plug into 4-Pin headers, they'll just be DC voltage controlled and not the preferred PWM control. As of late, I despise motherboard software and would opt for the hardware standalone control on the case. OR, you can, according to Antec's site, run an ARGB cable from the case (somewhere in there) to your motherboards ARGB port then control the lighting through your motherboards software. It will act as a standalone ARGB (Addressable RGB) controller for all three fans in conjuntion with the button on the case to cycle through modes. If your motherboard only has 3-pin connections, though, you can sometimes control the fans by changing the voltage supplied to the fan. This is the controller and it has two functions: Having a 4-pin fan connected to a 4-pin socket is ideal, since 4-pin connections allow your fans to be controlled through pulse-width modulation, or PWM. So since you don't know the name/model of the fans i'm going to just assume for now that they are the 3x ARGB models that come with that case. Hi, I have a air 540 with the stock fans 'AF140Ls' two are intakes one is outtakes. The fan is 120mm and it's a 3 pin connector, I'm not sure what kind of controller type I have but it's the one in this case (as well as the fans), the mobo is MSI B450 Tomohawk Max.
